Little People’s Repertory Theatre’s
Junior Players Program
What?
LPRT’s Junior Players Program is a creative dramatics program for children under 8 who are too young to participate in LPRT’s summer program.
The Program offers young children an opportunity to participate in age appropriate creative dramatics activities such as dramatic play, dress up, creative movement dance, and singing. Children will be taught a few very special musical numbers and will open LPRT’s summer show with a short performance!
Participating in Junior Players is a great way to give children who may be interested in doing musical theatre exposure to the stage, and the experience of performing in front of a real audience. The Performances are optional and children who are not ready for performing may wish to participate in day sessions only.
Who?
LPRT’s Executive Director Janinne Chadwick designed the Junior Players Program. Janinne created and teaches a Creative Dramatics course for early childhood educators for Cabrillo College where she has taught early childhood education for the past 8 years.
Denise Gorham, LPRT’s Assistant Director for summer 2007’s Wizard Of Oz, and a host of skilled and enthusiastic LPRT teen alumni, successfully run the LPRT Junior Players Program.
Why?
Because Creative expression is good for people of all ages, and it’s a lot of fun!
